You Are Beautiful

Yesterday I was driving home from work enjoying the sunshine when I saw the best graffiti that I have ever seen on the side of the overpass. "You are beautiful", such a wonderful reminder for all to see. I took a picture of it, because sometimes I need a reminder of this simple phrase. You see what I have figured out through blogging, through reading amazing blogs, everyday life and interaction with so many people, is that EVERYBODY is beautiful, including me! It has been a long fought battle for me to say those words, but finally I believe them.

The Cat's Meow

Every now and then I am captivated by an unexpected blog post. This week that post was from Xtina at Musings of a Fatshionista. I read Christina’s blog everyday , as a matter of fact, Musings was the first fatshion blog that I ever read. But this week’s “It Only Took a Whisper” post was marvelous! I loved the pictures, I loved the concept, I loved the writing. That’s why Xtina is this week’s Cat’s Meow!


Taking her inspirations from the world of haute couture Xtina created a post that looked straight out of the pages of W Magazine. Setting out to display her new boots from Torrid, Xtina did so much more with her simple, artistic photography. I know I personally rushed and ordered the boots for myself after reading that post! As a blogger and overall lover of fashion I am completely reminded of all the things that you can accomplish if you let your imagination run wild.

Misty Blue....

Have you ever seen something in a straight sized store that you really want, but can't wear. You try to make it work, but you just become more uncomfortable in the process. Well this summer I became obsessed with a tunic from BCBG, and I tried it on, but it didn't work. And I went back the next day tried it on again and it didn't work. I loved the blue color and the stripes (oh yeah i love stripes). One day the fashion gods smiled on me (they often do) and I found a fabulous tunic that was very similar to the BCBG one at Ashley Stewart. I was beyond happy!!! This tunic has become one of my go to bright spots in my closet. It's a great layering piece, it's comfy and it's so brightly colored!!! I love color!

I wore my favorite peice with a pair of leggings from Old Navy, and my new jacket from Torrid. I love multi- functional peices. What are some of the items that you have wished for and found?
