ModCloth Polyvore Challange

During the Holidays finding the perfect dress to wear from event to event is always a top priority. Ironically when the lovely team over at Modcloth sent me this dress to style for their Polyvore Challenge, I jumped at the opportunity to do so. I love ModCloth and I was already styling this dress in my head after looking at for days on their site so this was a no brainier for me. This BB Dakota frock aptly titled "When The Night Comes" (available up to a size 24) screams holiday fun!!! Since many of my events are both day and night events I wanted to create looks for both. Depending on your style and/or mood you can go from kitschy to glam with these looks.

I am entering into the ModCloth look of the week with this set. Head over to ModCloth's Polyvore page to vote for me!

Skirt

Skirt, Jacket, Jewelry, Purse-Forever 21, Booties -Zara (old), Sunglasses-BCBG (old)

Sometimes a skirt comes along and you want to ignore it, but you can’t… I mean you just can’t! I know that I’m not alone in saying that I waited for Forever 21 to drop this skirt.  I debated whether or not to get it. I couldn’t decide if the silhouette was too last season, I even discussed it with a few of other bloggers, and then I caved and bought it.  This past summer I watched people wear the very chic Zara skort and wished it was in my size, but alas it was not. But cry not, because Forever 21 delivered with this delicious piece of fashion! Not only was it in the amazing asymmetrical shape it also was pleather!?!?!?!?!

I paired it with my favorite pleather jacket from Forever 21, black and white striped tank from Elloqui and Zara booties. So I have to ask… Did anyone else buy the skirt? And what are you going to wear with it? Be prepared to see this skirt in heavy rotation this winter.

Laser Love

Sweater-Old Navy(old), Skirt-Macy's Calvin Klein, Braclet-Ann Taylor Loft (old), Sunnies-Stella McCartney, Shoes-Zigi New York (old)

If you read my blog or follow me on any form of social media my love for leather is no secret at all. I mean I love leather in any and all forms. I also cheat a little and love pleather as well. This week I added a new piece to the collection in the form of this lovely Calvin Klein laser cut pleated skirt. Ohhh this skirt is way to good to be true! I love the fit, the laser cut and it's the perfect length. Le sigh... I kept it simple and added a black sweater and black shoes. After shooting these pictures I realized I had the perfect shoes to match my sunnies... such is my life! Then again you can never go wrong with all black everything.

Anyone pick up any good leather pieces? Let me know which ones you like the most!

Notorious...

Jacket-Forever 21(old), Shirt-H&M, Skirt-Talbots, Boots-Torrid(old), Sunglasses-BCBG(old)

Plaid is without a doubt one of the biggest trends of the season that keeps me tied up in a love/hate relationship. After going to Catholic School and being forced to wear plaid everyday for the better half of 7 years I have shied away from anything associated with the print. But as I explored the shelves this season I slowly but surely warmed up to adding classic plaid pieces to my wardrobe.

Buffalo plaid has been at the top of my list. I picked up this skirt at Talbot's and I think I am in love! To buck the stereotype I paired this with my Notorious Big shirt from H&M, otk boots from Torrid and my favorite leather jacket. This look took me a bit out of my comfort zone, but I am learning to do that more often these days! This look is also an entry into Masque Magazine's Fall Fashion Faceoff in the tartan plaid trend. So tell my my pretties how do you feel about plaid?!
