Winter Plaids...

Jacket-Wet Seal, Turtleneck-Talbots, Jeans-Forever 21(old), Shoes-Nine West(old)

I can see how so many people can settle into a slight winter uniform. It is extremely hard to make the most of layering, find appropriate footwear and stay warm all at the same time. One aspect of winter dressing that has always been a favorite of mine is outerwear. I love adding unique, colorful outerwear to my wardrobe every winter time. I was especially happy to add this fabulous $15 find to the collection this year!

This plaid moto jacket from Wet Seal fed right into my plaid obsession. I was skeptical about the quality but it totally proved me wrong. The jacket was warm and it is very well made! I am sure you will see it again before the season is over. Check it out on Allison and Margie, they both look great in this jacket!

What do you guys love about winter dressing?

On Wednesdays I Want...

As I enjoy being snowed in like many in the Southeast right now, I have had ample time to peruse the internet and looking for things to purchase. One item sitting high atop my wish list is the Olivia Floral Cutout dress from Fashion to Figure. Last summer I was completely obsessed these two Suno floral cutout dress seen here and here. I never found anything to satisfy my wants, but thanks to this lovely dress that is changing. Though it is daunting to try the cutout trend I like the structure of this dress and the floral material. I am completely hear for showing a little skin and a great floral dress. I think my snow induced shopping haze my include this dress.

If your in the Southeast or anywhere with inclement weather be safe and stay warm everyone!!!

Floral Madness...

Dress-AsosCurve, Vest-Old, Bag- Express Old, Sunnies-Gap, Shoes-DSW, Braclets-J.Crew,

I had been watching this Asos Curve dress for a while and when I saw how cute it looked on Melissa McCarthy I decided to make it mine. I channeled my inner Rachel Zoe by layering the dress with my guerrilla vest, tights and leopard accents. For more reason than one this look made my eighth-grade self very happy.  What most people don’t know about me is that I spent the majority of my middle school years wearing patchouli, creating flower crowns and shunning any shoes except for Birkenstocks. Over the years my style has evolved and I often I forget to let my inner flower child out to play. Not any more, I am going to let her out and see what she comes up with.

The New Neutral...

Coat-Lane Bryant old (similar here), t-shirt-Forever 21, Jeans-Target, Handbag-Express, Shoes-Belk, Sunnies-Gap

I am always looking for new fashion inspiration, but then again aren’t we all. Over the past few weeks while I reading my favorite blogs and souring Pinterest I came across a mélange of white and camel outfits that were begging to be interpreted by me. I was especially inspired by Krystal Bick at “This Time Tomorrow”, in her all white ensemble with the camel topper. There is something about this pairing that is so light, chic and casual. Throw in bits of leopard and you are ready to roll!

Have you been drawing inspiration from anywhere? Let me know so I can check it out!

On Wednesdays I Want...

Simply Be Dress

I'm kicking off a new series on the blog called "On Wednesday's I Want". I will feature an item or a few items that I am currently lusting after. Since the new Simply Be Fast Fashion collection launched last week I have been dreaming about several things from the collection. One of those is this delectable blue slip dress. Let me take you back to my teen years when all I wanted to be was a grunge queen. I tried my hardest but sometimes the clothes wouldn't let me be great! So when I saw this dress all of my teenage fantasies came true. I imagine pairing this with a long sweater, combat boots or maybe a simple trench coat. The possibilities are endless.

Though I am not supposed to be shopping (at all) I think a few of these Simply Be pieces are going to come home with me. What do you lovelies want this Wednesday?

Thanks for reading!!!

Out of Zone...

Shirt-Forever 21, Skirt-Jibri, Shoes-Go Jane, Clutch-Vintage

Since ringing in the New Year I have been working hard to push myself out of my comfort zone, especially in the area of fashion. This time I tried it with a crop top. I paired this Forever 21 crop top with my Jibri skirt and threw on a little leopard. I loved this look and couldn’t stop twirling around as we were taking pictures (there is an entire set of pictures of my twirling and laughing). At first I didn’t think I would be comfortable with the shirt, but as time wore on I forgot the tiny sliver of my stomach was showing.

Anyone else pushing themselves out of their comfort zone? Tell me how!

Leopard Happiness...

Coat-Torrid, T-Shirt-Forever 21(old), Jeans-NYDJ(old), booties-Zara(old)

Happy Friday Y'all! It's been a long, long week!!!! I'm thoroughly looking forward to doing absolutely
nothing this weekend. Over the holidays My Mom let me pick out my own presents, and one of them was this super plush, super warm leopard coat from Torrid. I was hesitant about if for a few days, I am working super hard to not make impulse purchases, but once I took it out of the box I knew that I made a the right decision. Plus I saw it on Margie and I knew it was a winner. Did I mention it was on clearance for 35 dollars?!?!

Did anyone pick up any great pieces during this fantastic sale season? Have a lovely weekend everyone! Do something fun!!!

This is the Remix...

Sweater-Talbot's, Dress-Asos Curve, Shoes-Zara, necklaces (My Mommie's)

Sometimes a girl just wants to get dressed up and go dancing. And sometimes a girl just wants to wear the dress that has been sitting unworn in her closet for the past two years. So I did both! I don’t know why I’ve never worn this ASOS Curve lace dress, but I never have. Time after time I pass over it and pick something else. I’ve even pulled it out to sale on eBay, but changed my mind at the last minute. One time I was getting dressed and I swear the dress spoke to me and begging to be worn.

Since this dress is not alone in its quest to be worn, I have been shopping my own closet more and more lately looking for new things to mix and match together. I seriously do not need any new clothes ( I know check my temperature), and I have so many pieces that would work together. I paired this never work dress with a cashmere sweater and violá magic.

Anyone else trying to shop their own closet? How do you approach remixing your wardrobe?

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Comfort and Style

Jacket-Old Navy (similar here), Dress-C/O SWAK Designs, Purse-Gucci Vintage, Booties-Macy's(similar here)

As we start to thaw out from this great “Polar Vortex”, I am reminiscent of last week when I was able to wear this super cute and super comfortable dress from SWAK Designs. One of the key components to make me happy is being comfortable. As I get older I am way less willing to be uncomfortable in my clothing, this lady likes to breath!  Before the polar express came running into town I was enjoying that week of 60 to 70 degree weather. But I digress…

I have been a long time fan of SWAKS simple, chic and comfortable offerings. Does anyone remember the Gloria dress from a few years ago? Well I practically lived in it! Please SWAK bring it back! I was super excited when the Ladies at SWAK contacted me to send me their “Three Key Pieces”. The Kayla dress was one of their pieces, and I am happy to say that this very stylish tank dress is equally as great as my beloved Gloria. I threw on my camouflage jacket and comfortable booties to pull the entire look together.

Both comfortable and functional you can dress it up and dress it down. With my hectic schedule I like a dress that I can move from day to night.  Fellow bloggers Kiah, From Rez to the City looked stunning in her dressy look and Peggy from On the Q Train looks chic in her weekend look.  What do you value in your wardrobe pieces? Is it comfort, versatility, trend or maybe all of these? I love hearing from my readers!
