Pink Sparkles...

Blazer, Tank, Pants, Necklace-Forever 21, Shoes-Khol's

I apologize for the lack of post. I spent most of last week fighting a cold and getting a root canal (awful). But I am back now feeling much better!

When taking a look at my wardrobe I realized that I am completely guilty of focusing strictly on a few aspects of my wardrobe and lately my accessories have been severely ignored. One of my main focuses of 2014 was to spend a bit more time focused on remedying this problem. As with my wardrobe I want to mix high-end and low end pieces to build my collection. I fell totally in love with this rhinestone bib necklace from Forever 21 and I know it would add to my collection. Such sparkly perfection can easily be dressed up or down. I know you will see more of it on the blog.

Anyone focusing on a specific part of their wardrobe? How did you decide how and what to focus on?
Thanks for reading!!!

On Wednesday's I Want

Photo from Anna Scholz.com

I really thought I was going to make it through this week wanting nothing more than for this snow threat to go away, but I was sadly mistaken. Since I am cooped up in the house I have had more than enough time to look at everything that is coming out and there are some excellent pieces coming out this spring. I feel in love with matching separates and looks this past fall and I don’t want to let the trend go. This Anna Scholz White
Label look spoke to me… and it said Jeniese buy me! Le sigh, I love the top, the pants and the print!I can not wait for it to be available!

With all of the new spring looks dropping soon, has anyone seen anything they can’t live without?

Thank you for reading.

New Stripes...

Jacket & Shirt-Forever 21, Skirt-Ashley Stewart, Shoes-Zara

As I continue to venture out of my fashion box I felt like experimenting with my crop top just a little bit more.  My first thought is that I would only be comfortable with the crop top flare skirt combo, but I was sorely mistaken my friends. This time around I paired my crop top with a pencil skirt and the high-waist on this skirt helped me see that more than just one shape of skirt would complement a crop top.  I was very pleased with the outcome of my fashion experiment.

Anyone else experimenting with any trends this season?  Speaking of seasons I am super scared of how fast February is moving! Jeez it will be spring before you know it!

Thank you for reading!

On Wednesdays I Want

Le sigh these shoes need very little introduction, but allow me to introduce you to the Aminah Abdul Jillil bow pump. Nothing short of amazing I have coveted these pumps since the day I laid eyes on them. I mean what’s not to love? The exaggerated bow, the vibrant colors, the perfect heel, they are perfection personified.  Available in sizes 6 through 11, the pumps now come in 4 different colors. This will surely turn into another example of when my Wednesday wants become my Wednesday purchases.  The only think I can’t decide is what color I would want!

Three Times the Charm...

Shirt- Talbots, Look 1: Jeans & Jacket(Similar)-Forever 21, Necklace-Old; Look 2: Skirt-Forever 21, Shoes-Khol's(old), Tights-Ashley Stewart; Look 3: Pants-Forever 21, Shoes-Steve Madden(sold out)

There are few good things that come from being stuck inside during a snow storm, sleeping late, catching up on my reading and playing dress up in my closet rank high atop the list for me. In gathering inspiration I ran across a piece on Leaftv on styling a sequin shirt 4 ways. I recently purchased a similar sequins shirt and I wanted to challenge myself to find at least three different ways to wear it. I have a new rule that if I can't wear it at least three ways I shouldn't purchase it.

Look number one consists of my trusty leather jacket, sequin shirt, my beloved boyfriend jeans and a classic pair of black pumps. The second look is a more classic look, I paired the sequins shirt with opaque tights, a skater skirt and neon pink shoes. For my third look I wanted to do a complete wild card so I paired my sequins top with a pair of floral pants and nude pumps. With each look I was able to recreate the shirt giving it a different feel for daily wear.

If you’ve never spent any time playing in your closet don't wait for a snow day to do so! Pick a day when you have extra time and go for it! Here's just a little advice on what to do:
  • Drink a glass of wine or simply make sure you’re relaxed.
  • Start simple and pick out one item in your wardrobe and search for inspiration on how to style this item (Pinterest, Instagram, blogs and magazines work best for me).
  • Find out how many pieces you have that work with this item. Try them on and make sure you are satisfied with your looks.
  • Move on to another item and repeat the process.

Do you ever play in your closet? What's the best time for you? What's the worst time?

Thanks for reading!
