Working For The Weekend...
Jacket-Eloquii, Jeans-Target, T-Shirt-Forever21, Shoes-Shoedazzle |
When I don’t know what to wear I normally wrap an entire
outfit around my favorite band t-shirt. I love this Pink Floyd shirt from
Forever 21. I have worn it with jeans, leather, skirts, and everything else in
between. I even love it so much I bought it twice. It worked well for a great
day out with white jeans, my linen motorcycle jacket, and my favorite pumps of
the moment. Its looks like this that remind me of how much fun you can have
getting dressed!
I am heading for a quick beach getaway this weekend. I am
looking forward to great food, fun in the sun and doing absolutely nothing! My
schedule has been unbelievably hectic for the past few months a bit of
relaxation and unplugging are just what the doctor ordered. I will post some weekend captures to the blog
once I am back!!!
Don’t forget today is the last day to enter the Pop Up Plus
faux leather jogger giveaway! I will announce the winner on Friday!!!

Dots & Stripes
Top-Forever 21(Similar), Skirt-JcPenny(Similar), Shoes-Zara(Similar) |
If there is one area of clothing that I struggle with the
most it is definitely my work wardrobe. Although I spend most of my day there, I
am completely guilty of going for comfort instead of couture during my working
hours. I am refocusing my energy on sprucing up my work looks with a few new
pieces that express my personal style and allow me to be comfortable. I have
also made a vow to find a few pair of comfortable heels to wear through the day
as well.
Since I am completely striped obsessed I fell in love with
this pencil skirt at JCPenny, and immediately made it mine. It is perfect for
work and it is the epitome of my personal style! I was however, extremely disappointed that I
they did not make the matching blazer in plus sizes, only petite and missy. I
would have LOVED the entire suit!!! I
mixed my stripes with dots by paring the skirt with one of my favorite blouses.
I can be honest though I didn’t last very long in the shoes, my trusty pointy
toe flats came out a few hours after I strutted in the door of my office.
So what about you my fabulous readers? How do you feel about
work wear? What is your go to strategy?

Jump Jump...
Jacket-H&M, Jumpsuit-My Habit, Shoes-Target, Sunnies-BCBG |
Purse-Philip Lim for Target, Bracelet-Banana Republic |
Jumpsuits are a heavy staple in my wardrobe. With such a
hectic schedule I like the ease and simplicity of just having one item to
revolve a look around. Jumpsuits have always held a certain image of sophistication
to me, blame it or on the 70’s or my Mother. I remember her wearing one when I
was little from this cool new store (Banana Republic) that had just opened in
Birmingham, It was military styled and I
vowed it would be mine when I got older. That wasn’t meant to be but I have
peppered my wardrobe with several jumpsuits that I deemed classics.
I picked this jumpsuit up from My Habit (they have some amazing
plus size items by the way). I loved the fit and comfort of this jumpsuit. It
can go from casual, to dressy to a great layering piece. For this post I shared
two ways to wear the jumpsuit, one with a leopard jacket for those cooler
spring days and one by itself with a cute handbag.
How do you guys feel about jumpsuits? Are they a yay or a
nay for you?
Thanks for reading!

30 Plus Style "The TuTu Skirt"
Blazer-Macys, Tank & Necklace-Forever 21, Skirt-DIY, Shoes-Khol's, Bag-Tano, Bracelets-Ashley Stewart |
It is time for part two of the 30 Plus Style Challenge and
for this edition we are all presenting our take on the tutu skirt. I believe
that absolutely every wardrobe should have some element of whimsy in it. The
tutu skirt is most definitely a way to add whimsy to every wardrobe. They can
be dressed up, dressed down, styled preppy or punked out.
I wanted to go with a
more classic feel adding girly touches like sparkly jewelry, pair of neon pink
pumps and a blazer. For the longest I wanted to take pictures under Birmingham’s
beloved light bridges and I thought this look was the perfect opportunity to do
so. It added that additional touch of whimsy that made me so excited!!!
On a side note there is a slight story behind this skirt. I
ordered one and it was horrific so I quickly ordered another but I was sad to
find out it wouldn’t be here until after the challenge. I so didn’t know what
to do, but my friend and fellow blogger Pepper Martin came to my rescue!!! She
made this tutu skirt and I totally loved it! I swear I am more and more
thankful for the wonderful women that I surround myself!!! Thanks Pepper!
So how do you feel about the tutu skirt? Yay or nay? Check
out my other fellow 30 Plus Style Bloggers to see their take on this challenge:
Joi from In My Joi, Delilah from Pumps and Studz, Georgette fromGrown and Curvy Woman, Pepper from Pretty Plus Pep and Nefferth from Mode_Plus.
