It starts with a Necklace

Necklace-Addition Elle, Coat-Old Navy, Jeans-Lane Bryant (Similar)(Similar) Shoes & Sunnies-Target

Many times I am inspired to create a look around a certain piece from my wardrobe. A favorite pair of shoes, a great lipstick, or a piece of jewelry. A few weeks ago I noticed this beautiful necklace in a giveaway on Addition Elle’s website and decided to enter for myself and Georgette. I was so excited to find out we won!

I loved the bright, bold colors of this necklace that compared and contrasted with the softness of the pearl beading. My mind went into overdrive wondering how many looks I could put together with this one statement necklace and this pink coat that I got on extreme clearance at Old Navy was the first thing that stood out. The parallels of soft and bold were perfect to me blending together to make a great look for a casual day or dinner.

So what inspires you when you get dressed?

My Curvy Valentine: Plus Size Outfits

Sweater-Banana Republic (Similar), Skirt-Eloquii,Shoes-DVF( SAKS/Sold Out Online but still in stores)

Earlier this week I brought you my casual Valentine’s look and I discussed what the day meant to me. This time around I am collaborating with a few other bloggers to bring you My Curvy Valentine! We got together to show you our Valentine’s Day style!

In the past I have celebrated V-Day in a variety of ways from hosting singles parties, dinners, comedy clubs, vacations you name it I’ve done it. Picking out a great look for that special night out can be a daunting task, but I think you can make anything Valentine’s Day appropriate. I fell in love with these DVF heart booties in Saks a few weeks ago and walking away from them was not an option! I knew my V-Day look would revolve around these amazing shoes. Since they are such a statement shoe, I wanted to pair them with a simple and chic look to highlight the spirit of the holiday! This striped crop sweater and midi skirt were the perfect option! Adding this ban.do heart was the extra pop of Valentine’s that made the look perfect!

Whether you are dressing up or dressing down, whether you are single or taken I hope you have the most amazing day filled with happiness and love! I know I asked with the last post, but for everyone dressing up for the Holiday what are you wearing?

Please head over and check out the fabulous looks from my amazing collaborators:

My Casual Valentine...

Jacket-Eloquii(old), Sweater-Lane Bryant, Jeans-Lane Bryant(Similar), Shoes-Nine West(old)

Valentine’s Day is my absolute favorite holiday. When I was little both of my parents used to make such a big deal about the day. I remember getting flowers and candy every year, and buying the latest Valentine’s for my friends! I love the idea of celebrating love and friendship and not for one second do I believe that it’s anymore a hallmark holiday than anything else that we celebrate!

The adorable crop of kitschy items that pop up during this time of year always makes me happy! I may or may not have an entire section of my closet dedicated to Valentine’s related pieces. When I saw this lip print sweater at Lane Bryant I wasted no time purchasing it. It is so much perfection I could hardly take it. The lightweight knit makes it perfect to layer or wear alone as temperatures warm up. This paired with my red cape jacket and jeans is perfect for a casual Valentine’s Day look. Later this week I will bring you a dressier look!

So how do you feel about Valentine’s Day? And better yet what are you wearing to celebrate the holiday?

This post is a link up with Supple Chic and His and Hers Fashion! Go check out their looks!
