Summer Travel Plans: The Curvy Con Edition

Summer time is always an exciting season filled with fun, celebration and travel. This year I have a jammed packed scheduled mixing a ton of business with a few bits of pleasure. First up this summer is theCURVYcon! I am so excited about two of my favorite bloggers Chasity Garner of Garner Style and CeCe Olisa of Plus Size Princess have created a day-long event full of curvy fun!

theCURVYcon will take place on June 20 in New York City, at the Metropolitan Pavilion West and it looks to be a fabulous day filled fun dedicated to the Curvy Girl. I can’t wait to be in the mix of my favorite bloggers, fashionistas, shopaholics and vloggers. I personally am extremely excited about is listing to speeches from actress Amber Riley and gospel recording artist Kierra Sheard! Along with these two there will also be speeches from Gabi Gregg, Nadia Abouslhosn, Crissel West, Amanda Allison, Chante Burkett and more being named daily!

There are still time to purchase your ticket to theCURVYcon! Teal Level tickets are still available at $149 which includes admission, a conference tote and swag as well as General Admission tickets are available at $99 which include admission and a conference tote. You can go here to purchase tickets!

For hotel accommodations The Yotel has been designated host hotel of the conference. The Yotel is a 10-minute walk from theCURVYcon and is in the heart of Manhattan. If you book your hotel before May 19th, you can secure a queen cabin for $219 a night, which is a steal in NYC! For information about the conference and hotel accommodations you can head over to http://thecurvycon.com.

I will be in the place excited to be surround by my Curvy Girls! With sponsors like Eloquii, NYX Cosmetics, Ideel, Dia &Co, Hooked Up Shapewear and Eleven60, I know my wallet is going to be in serious trouble! I hope to see you there. Flirty Stripes

Dress-Asos Curve, Shoes-Zara(similar), Bag-Kate Spade Saturday(similar), Sunglasses-Celine (less expensive version)

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know about my love affair with stripes. I consider them to be a closet basic like a black blazer or jeans. I have never and will never give into the idea that stripes are for the thin. You shouldn’t either. Please don’t avoid something that you love just because of what other people say.

When I saw this dress on Asos I thought I really don’t need another stripe dress. But I couldn’t deny the pull of the flirty bottom and Bardot sleeve. I absolutely love this dress! The material was heavier and not cotton, which was surprising to me.  The fit is true to size and knee length, so it's not too short. My first impression was comfortable, cool and flirty. As the weather warms up, I gravitate towards pieces like these. This dress will definitely become a summer favorite.

Even though we’ve discussed this before, do any of you avoid stripes? Or all over stripes shall I say?

I need a favor from all of my lovely readers! I am a finalist for Redbook Magazines Real Woman, Real Style Awards! If I am chosen I could be on the cover of Redbook or in the pages! I would love it if you would take the time to vote for me. It doesn't require any registration of information, just a simple click on one of my pictures. Go here http://bit.ly/1P6Gfh2 to vote! You can vote daily until May 22!

Thank you for reading and voting!!!
