T-shirt-Forever 21 Men, Skirt c/o-Leknuf Chicago, Shoes-Shoedazzle(old)(Similar), Sunnies-BCBG(old) |
Ankara fabric, also known by some as Dutch wax print, has
been grabbing my attention since it hit the fashion scene some years back. The bold,
bright and brilliant prints are so fashionably exotic. I will admit I wasn’t
sure if I could pull them off so I have been very hesitant to try. After seeing
a few of my fellow bloggers rock amazing Ankara looks I was itching to take the
plunge!
When Lola at L'eknuf Chicago, approached me about trying one
of her skirts I was excited to do so. I immediately choose my fabric and
anticipated receiving it! Lola was great to work with, she walked me through
several steps and that was much appreciated. Let me tell you I was not disappointed at all
with the finished results. I loved the fit and the drape of the skirt. And the
fabric was so beautiful.
I hit another block when styling the skirt. I was torn
between going completely simple or going dressy. I realized there was the opportunity
to do both. The effortlessness of
throwing on a graphic tee with the skirt led me to go that direction with this
skirt I easily could have put on a pair of flat sandals but I choose my
favorite lace up sandals. The look all came together, now if someone could
remind me to take this skirt off.
Anyone tried Ankara yet? How do you feel about it?
Thank you for reading!
