Getting A Facial at The Esthetic Loft
One thing I realized about 2016 is that I put a ton of self-care practices on the back burner for myself. I can count on my hand how many manis & pedis I got (sad), I avoided my hot yoga class, didn't find a new dance class to take and the list could really go on and on. I don't know what I got too busy doing, but I made a promise to add several modes of self-care back into my life this year. So when I was invited to The Esthetic Loft in Homewood to receive a facial and learn about the services they offer. This was the best opportunity for me to get back into the swing of things.
When I arrived, I meet with Dana Benson, the owner of The Esthetic Loft. She discussed my skin issues with me, asked me what products I was currently using and walked me step by step of what we she was going to do during my facial. Dana proceeded to give me the most serene but informative facial that I've ever had. Dana is a complete pro, she made me feel calm, and at ease with having someone new work on my skin. Her tips and information on what to do post facial was also really helpful in creating the right long-term skincare routine for my dry, aging skin. Nearly 5 weeks later I still feel the positive effects of having the facial. My skin is softer, brighter and several of my dark spots have diminished.
As I move closer to 40, I am definitely making facials a larger part of my routine, opting to get them done every 8 weeks as suggested to my by my new esthetician! Aging like fine wine has always been my lifelong goal. Now I'm one step closer!
Do you get facials? If so how often? If not why?
Thank you for reading!

DeleteSelf-care is a necessity. I don't see an esthetician, but I'm a product junkie. I had a problem with facial eczema a couple of years ago and I took complete control over my skincare and it's been working for me. I have to admit that as far as aging goes, I hit the genetic lotto! I'm 46 and I don't even have gray hair! My relatives age beautifully. As long as I do the basics in taking care of my I'll be great!
ReplyDeleteErica,I have dry skin and have suffer from eczema on my body. But I have dry patches starting to form on my face, so now I want to try and take care of them. I also hit the ageing lotto, not on the grey hair front, but skin definitely! I hope I look as good as you do when I turn 46!
