Pop Up Plus Spring Challenge

Jacket-Torrid (similar), T-shirt-H&M, Pants-Pop Up Plus, Shoes-Zara(similar), Sunnies-BCBG(old)

I love a challenge, especially when it involves fashion. When the lovely ladies over at Pop Up Plus asked me to participate in a Spring fashion challenge it was a no brainer for me. I was especially pumped when I found out I would be styling a pair of faux leather joggers! It’s no secret I love all things leather and I tried a pair of faux leather joggers earlier this year, but I didn’t love them so I was very anxious to give them another try.

As soon as I put these pants on I was in love, I really didn’t want to take them off. They are both comfortable and very chic. I have said before I value comfort so much as I get older and I really enjoy adding pieces to my wardrobe that mix my style aesthetic and my need for comfort. These pants can be worn several different ways both casual and dressy. I paired mine with my Biggie t-shirt, leather drape front jacket and a pair of pumps.

Now here’s where the fun starts! There are a few other bloggers participating in the challenge, so If you would so kindly head over to Pop Up Plus’s Instagram page they are hosting a contest to see which one of us gets the most social media response. If I win I get to give away the pants in all three colors that they come in to a lucky reader!

If you won the joggers what do you think you would style them with?

Playing Favorites

Shirt-Talbots(old), Jeans-Forever21, Shoes-ShoeDazzle, Sunglasses-Prada, Purse-Vintage Gucci

I may be stuck in a color cycle. I cannot get enough navy and red, but hey at least I dumped the stripes and replaced them with polka dots. These are one of two of my favorite pair of jeans. If I see Forever 21 put them up again I might buy them several times over. Often I buy multiples of one of my favorite things so I am never faced with life without the item. I have an innate fear that one of my favorite items will wear out or and I won’t have anything to replace it with.  Anyone else suffer from that fear?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!! I am beyond looking forward to doing nothing and sleeping late!

Blue Monday...

Sweater-Lane Bryant, Short-Old Torrid, Shoes-Nine West, Sunglasses-Stella McCartney

It was love at first sight for me and this stripe sweater from Lane Bryant. Again all it took was a good 50 off sale and I was a goner! I did have a brief moment when I thought maybe I don’t need another stripe anything, but that went quickly out of the window! I went back in forth with how to style this sweater and I found several great options, I mean did you see Kiah wear it last week? Loved it!!!  If it had of been one or two inches longer it would have been a dress! But it of course I decided to tuck it so it wouldn’t overpower my shorts and make me look like I didn’t have any pants on.  A punch of color always makes me happy so I added blue purple accessories to complete my ensemble.

Happy Monday Y'all!!! I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Suit Dreams...

Blazer-Lane Bryant, Pants-Lane Bryant, Crop Top- Express, Shoes-ShoeDazzle, Bag-Rebecca Minkoff (Similar),

I will totally admit that after I saw fellow bloggers Joi and Georgette in red suits I was a little bit obsessed with finding myself a red pant suit. All it took was for me to find this orange-red suit at Lane Bryant and a 50% off sale! The fit and the material of this suit are absolutely amazing! Often times I am weary of suiting because it can be stiff and matronly. Not this one, it felt modern and it gave me the look I have been wanting. I may or may not have purchased this suit in multiple colors… You’ve been warned. You most defiantly see these pieces on repeat. I think I have already worn it twenty million different ways in my mind already. This time around I paired the suit with a pump and a striped crop top.

Speaking of Lane Bryant did you check out the Isabel Toledo Collection and fashion show?  Loved both the collaboration and the fashion show! Though it doesn’t feel like it when your knee deep in dressing room terror the plus size fashion world is making some major moves in the right direction!!!

 Have a wonderful weekend!!!

On Wednesday's I Want

Though it doesn’t feel like it outside, Spring is here.  Especially Spring fashion! Everyday a new line or collection drops and I am giddy at the potential for my spring wardrobe. One of my favorite designers Jasmine Elder dropped her Spring 2014 Jibri collection last week and I must say I am totally in love with it! Jasmine never disappoints and this collection was true to the perfection I have come to expect from her brand. Full of bright colors, polka dots, crop tops, pencil skirts, harem dress so much deliciousness!!!

A few weeks ago Georgette (from Grown and Curvy Woman) and I were discussing our disappointment of a skirt we had ordered but it was way too small for us, we mentioned that we hoped Jibri would create something similar. Imagine my surprise when she did create the exact look we wanted for this Spring Collection!  I loved that Jasmine paid attention to what we wanted to see on the market!

Here a few of my favorites from Jibri’s Spring 2014 collection! Check out the rest of the collection here.  Have you had a chance to check it out?! Pick out any favorites?! Let me know!
