A Guide To A Stylish Plus Size Life

Outfit: Poncho | Tank | Pant

Today is my third and final post in my partnership with Catherines!

Listen if anyone knows me, then they know I love a poncho. For years I wore oversized poncho items from straight size stores that other women avoided like the plague. It would be putting it lightly to say I was obsessed with them. To this day I still love throwing a poncho over a legging, skinny pant or jean to pull an entire look together. It makes me feel chic without trying. I know some people avoid them because they can be to over-sized but not me and not this poncho from Catherines latest fall selections.

This poncho from Catherines is so easy to wear!  I put it on top of a tank top so I would get to hot and paired it with my favorite leggings. I was instantly ready to walk out of the door. If I had to restyle this I would put it over a white blouse to elevate the look even more!

So how do you feel about ponchos? Do you love them or are you indifferent?

Thank you to Catherines for sponsoring this post.

This fall I’m taking a new approach to fashion. Buying less, re-wearing more, and trying new silhouettes. I realize that even though I’m not afraid to try new shapes, I haven’t done so in a while. The only exception to this rule is that over the past few years I’ve fallen more and more into trying new denim shapes. As much as I love my skinny jeans, I also love straight leg, and Mom jeans. So when I had a chance to partner with Catherines to discuss fall style, I instantly decided to explore their denim shapes.

My eye gravitated to the black jean and oversized denim jacket. One of my main reasons to love black jeans is because I can wear them like pants with a great top and still have the undeniable comfort of jeans.  It also makes it completely easier for me to wear jeans to work, which is nice. I’ve also been on the hunt for an oversized jean jacket that didn’t have any embellishments or distressing, this barnjacket was exactly what I had been searching for fall.

Catherines has so many great pieces for fall! I’ve already got my eye on a few of their dresses, as I patiently wait for sweater season. What are you shopping for this season? Send me a message, let’s discuss!

Outfit: Top | Pants | Shoes - Similar | Bag - Similar

This outfit jumped out to me immediately when I opened Eloquii's website. I was immediately drawn to the soft leopard print and floral print. I mean florals and leopards mixed together are my jam. I knew I wanted it, then I started to psych myself out with my fashion math. Will I wear it, does it make sense, can it fit into my wardrobe. Honestly all of these are great questions to ask when shopping,  but sometimes you need to let the joy of an outfit move you to purchase. There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying things because they bring you pure joy and will continue to bring you joy over and over again.

As far as fit goes I'm wearing a 20 in both pieces and probably would like the bottoms in a size 22. It has absolutely no stretch, so if you have a larger arms or thighs, you might want to keep that in mind when ordering. I am not at all disappointed by the look, definitely my favorite purchase of the summer!

What have y'all been buying? What's sparking joy in your wardrobe?

Thank you to Catherines for partnering with me and #sponsoring this post!

Not in a million years would I ever think that I would have too many swimsuits. When I started blogging years ago, the fatkini revolution was just getting started and women everywhere were rejoicing the change in plus size swimwear. These days we have so many choices in swimwear. I even dare to say that plus size swimwear is better than straight-size swimwear. On vacation my friends discuss how much they are jealous of my suits and cover up.

One thing that I noticed was missing from my swim looks was a sporty swimsuit that I could wear for Aqua Zumba and swimming laps. I knew I didn’t want a super official sporty swimsuit, but I did want something cute and comfortable for water activities. So when Catherines reached out to partner with  me on a post about swimwear, this was the perfect opportunity for me to find the swimsuit I had been looking for.

I picked out this super cute black, palm print swimsuit that has a secure zipper closure in the bustline, I also picked this leopard kaftan as a cover up. It’s always been my goal in life to be a woman who wears caftans and red lipstick on a daily basis. Back to the swimsuit, the fit was true to size (I got a 22), I felt comfortable and very secure in the bust area. It is a cute as it is functional which was what was important to me. I swam laps and didn’t worry about a body part making an unexpected appearance. The kaftan is s size 1x and the fit is super generous, I’m a size 20-22 for reference. I can’t wait to sport this combo during vacation this week! What kind of swimsuit are you looking for this season?
