2014 Review: What a Year!!!

When I finished my master’s degree in 2013, by next biggest goal was to restart my blog. I needed the creative outlet and I desperately missed the plus-size community that I joined back in 2010. All I can say is wow what a year it has been!

I have had so many wonderful experiences here on my little slice of the internet! Through the support of my family and friends and my amazing readers, I have accomplished so much more than I expected! I am grateful for your kind words and conversations over this past year! I hope you have been inspired by fashion! Stay tuned for 2015 it’s due to be amazing!

Happy New Year to all of you!

A Curvy Holiday Lookbook Part 3: Holiday Social Party

Outfit-C/O SWAK Designs, Blazer-Old(Similar), Shoes-Aldo, Vest-Old(Similar)

Hey y’all! Welcome to the last look for the Curvy Holiday lookbook! We are featuring looks for a Holiday Social Party. The Holidays are the perfect time for you to experiment with your look! With everything being so over the top you during this season there is no better time than the present to try out a two piece look, throw on a fur, wear a higher heel, or try new make up! You will be surprised with what looks you might fall in love with.

Anytime I go out with friends I always try to take it up a notch. This holiday season I am trying to continue and push my boundaries and try looks that are out of my box. For this post I tried this fabulously, comfortable two piece body con look from SWAK Designs. Previously I’ve discussed my hesitancy with wearing body con, but I am working hard to get out of my box. The comfort and fit of this two pieces look was the key thing that made me love this look. It’s hard to find two piece plus size looks that aren’t junior plus sizes so I was excited that this one goes up to a 4x. It has ample stretch and I found all of the lengths to be perfect for my body. I paired this with my black tuxedo blazer and my fur vest to bring everything together and to stay warm! This look is perfect for a holiday celebration and for any event coming up beyond this season.

What are y’all wearing this holiday?

30PlusStyle:LBD Lookbook

It’s time for another edition of 30plusstyle! This time around we are talking about the little black dress! Everyone women needs a little black dress it’s a plain and simple fact.  The little black dress is a closet staple that is good for any situation. If I can be honest most women probably need three little black dresses one for play, one for work and one for formal occasions.  As time has gone on the little black dress has evolved, it has taken different shapes, forms and styles.

The little black jumpsuit has become synonymous with the little black dress in my closet. Though I find the lbd necessary, I now feel like the jumpsuit offers a fresh take on the closet staple. This jumpsuit easily transitions from occasion to occasion just like the lbd. It was especially perfect for the holiday celebration I went to that evening!

Well y’all I am sad to say this is our last 30 Plus Style. Last year we started on this journey to let you know that style not only has no size it also has no age! I’ve learned so much and made some amazing friends through this style journey! We hope you will continue to use your #30PlusStyle hashtag to show us what you got! This week we have two guest bloggers joining us Cynthia from Fight of the Fat Girl and Jennae from Green and Gorgeous! Please continue to follow and read my other 30plusstyle bloggers post! These ladies are truly amazing:

Christmas Styling With Eloquii

Skirt-c/o Eloquii, Sweater-Talbots,Shirt&Vest -Old Navy(Old), Shoes-Shoedazzle(sold out, available in wine)

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is getting together with friends. I love having long dinners, more cocktails than normal and looking at everyone’s festive fashions. But even I will admit it’s hard to come up with great looks to wear constantly throughout the holiday season.  I have joined to together with a few of my bloggers boos and our favorite brand Eloquii, to show how we get dressed to go to a few different occasions. We selected one of two skirts from Eloquii to style for a certain holiday occasion. My occasion was dinner at my best friend’s house!

Under normal circumstances if I was going to my BFF’s house to hang out I would be extremely comfortable and not put in much effort, but during the holidays you never know who might pop up. Taking it up a notch is in order. For this look I stepped out of the box and went for a grungier look. I loved this boots that I picked up from ShoeDazzle!  They are not at all my norm, but I have been trying again to further push myself out of my comfort zone. I thought this look was great for hanging out with friends.

What are your go to pieces for the Holiday?
