Skirt-c/o Eloquii, Sweater-Talbots,Shirt&Vest -Old Navy(Old), Shoes-Shoedazzle(sold out, available in wine) |

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is getting
together with friends. I love having long dinners, more cocktails than normal
and looking at everyone’s festive fashions. But even I will admit it’s hard to
come up with great looks to wear constantly throughout the holiday season. I have joined to together with a few of my
bloggers boos and our favorite brand Eloquii, to show how we get dressed to go
to a few different occasions. We selected one of two skirts from Eloquii to
style for a certain holiday occasion. My occasion was dinner at my best friend’s
house!
Under normal circumstances if I was going to my BFF’s house
to hang out I would be extremely comfortable and not put in much effort, but
during the holidays you never know who might pop up. Taking it up a notch is in
order. For this look I stepped out of the box and went for a grungier look. I
loved this boots that I picked up from ShoeDazzle! They
are not at all my norm, but I have been trying again to further push myself out
of my comfort zone. I thought this look was great for hanging out with friends.
What are your go to pieces for the Holiday?
Go check out the other looks from my blogger boos:

It’s rivals week in college football, the week when long
standing battles are fought on the grid iron! For some it’s not that big of a
deal, but for most it’s a really big deal. Here in the state of Alabama one of
biggest rivalries in college football is The Iron Bowl. For us football fans bragging
rights are at stake, houses are divided, friends become enemies and the lines
are drawn in the sand. It’s that fateful
weekend that comes around once a year until the champion of the state of
Alabama is crowned! Y’all know by now my
loyalty lies with my alma mater, The University of Alabama!
I have mentioned before how the major aspect of expressing
your fandom is through fashion. You can take it subtle and just wear your
colors or you can take it all out and put your battle cry on your shirt. I am
pretty sure I don’t know how to take it subtle. For a little fun and games I
invited my blogger boo Pepper of Pretty Plus Pep, who is an Auburn Fan (boooooooo),
to show us how she shows her love for her beloved Auburn Tigers.
I fell in love with this sweatshirt from Victoria Secret’s
Pink collection instantly. Since it only came up to a large I wasn’t hopeful
that it would fit, but boy was I wrong! It goes to show try everything on, you
never know what will work! I threw this own with my boyfriend jeans and
favorite red pumps for an amplified comfortable look.
So is anyone's alma mater playing this weekend? How are
you expressing your team spirit?

Coat-c/o Eloquii, skirt-Talbots(similar), Boots-Forever21(old), Sunnies- Target |
Every winter I look for new and intriguing outerwear to
fulfill my coat fantasies. Honestly since it doesn’t get that cold here so I
end up purchasing coats more for sport than for functionality. On those rare
days when it is cold enough I don’t waste one second pulling out one of my
beloved coats
When Eloquii dropped this plaid coat if literally fulfilled
every outerwear need I had for the season (ha doesn’t my wallet wish that was
true). I loved the plaid and the utilitarian feel of the coat. The shape and
shape and design were very different from my other coats. More importantly the extreme happiness I felt
inside when I opened the coat let me know my decision was spot on.
Outfit thoughts: Y’all
know I sometimes love an overabundance of print so I jumped right into the deep
end and paired my jacket with a red plaid skirt in my closet. Initially I was
overwhelmed by the mix of plaids but I realized that I liked to slight contrast
and blend of the look. To anchor the look I went with a simple black turtleneck
and boots.
So how do you feel about outwear? Do you love it or do you
purely view it as a functional piece of clothing?

Dress-Old Navy (sold out online)( Similar), Purse-Vintage, Shoes-Michael Kors(Similar) |
Hey y’all it’s time for another #30plusstyle post and this
time we are discussing one of 2014 biggest color trends gray! Gray is a great option
when you don’t want to wear black, but you don’t want to wear bright colors
either. It’s also a fabulous color for neutral, monochromatic looks. Though I love gray, I can’t help but gravitate
towards my favorite comfortable sweatshirt dress when I think of the color and
the items in my wardrobe.
This dress is my go to look when I want to be cute but comfortable
while running errands around the city. On any Saturday when I’m off I like to
explore the city by hitting up the farmers market, shopping and watching
football. This dress gives me the option to be ready for most occasions on the
weekend. I threw it on this Saturday to
check out a few of the new murals that have popped up in Birmingham, then to
watch a football game.
30plusstyle is excited to welcome blogger Crystal Coons from
Sometimes Glam as our guest blogger. We are looking for guest bloggers to join
us on a future 30plusstyle post, for consideration contact us at
30plusstylecollab@gmail.com and be sure to include your blog's URL. Check out
our #30plusstyle Facebook page for more inspiration! Also check out the other
30plusstyle bloggers post for the day!
What are your thoughts on gray? Do you love it? Hate it?Are you unbothered by it?

When my blogger boo Ashley
from FabEllis approached me about participating in her Fab Werkwear series I
was especially excited to find out the topic was wearing leather to work! Y’all
know I love leather and if styled correctly it is definitely work appropriate.
Although I don’t work in
an extremely formal work environment I still pay close attention to what I deem
appropriate or not for my office setting. There are a few rules I follow to
making sure my leather pieces are work/office appropriate. Here they are below:
1. Although I love leather
pants, I typically don’t wear them to work. They are harder to style and keep
work appropriate. Sidenote: If I didn’t work in a slightly traditional office
I would wear my leather pants to work. You should too if you have more creative
licenses!
2. I stick to a few shapes
for leather skirts in the work place: pleated, pencil, and circle are all great
options.
3. Don’t wear any leather
too tight or too short. You will spend your day pulling your skirt down. Or at
least I always do.
4. Monochromatic looks
work better in the office setting. I like to tone it down when I wear a rich
material such as leather. If you work in a creative environment go for other
colors!
5. Try a leather dress!
They look amazing and work so well with layering. I mean check out Ashley’s
amazing look over at FabEllis.
6. Don’t discount how well
a leather jacket or blazer can work in the office! To some it seems like simple
outerwear but it can be a serious outfit booster especially if worn in a
different color!
7. Be confident in your outfit!!!
I hope these tips help y’all!
I appreciate Ashley at FabEllis for inviting me to participate in this post! I
love collaborating with other bloggers! Head
over to her blog to see her take on wearing leather to work and her Fab Werkwear
series. So what do you think? Do you wear leather to work? Do you think its
work appropriate?
Also, I am starting a new
series called “9 to 5 Just to Stay Alive” to discuss work wear. Let me know if
there is something you want me to cover!
