Mixin and Matching...

Shirt-Forever 21(sold out online), Skirt-Macy's(sold out online), Shoes-Aldo, Purse-Talbots, Sunnies-Target

Once upon a time I would have frowned my nose up at a matching outfit. When I was younger that’s all they offered the plus size woman a few matching pieces that we should have been foaming at the mouth to have. I cringe when I think of the outfits I was forced to wear. But times they have changed for the better!

In a haze of late night shopping on black Friday I ran across these two pieces at two different stores with the same print. I took a chance and ordered them to see if they would work together. Surprisingly they were a perfect match! I loved the large dark floral pattern that has come to be one of my favorite prints this season.

Have you changed your mind about a certain trend that you would normally turn your nose up at? What is it? What changed your mind about it?

Comfort Zone...

Turtleneck-Old Navy, Jeans-Lane Bryant(old)(Similar), Boots, Bag, & Hat-Old

All winter long I have lived in one variation or another of this look. You can even go back to this post for proof (LOL). With my schedule it’s great to reach in my closet and grab a go to outfit that makes me feel confident and chic. Though it may seem like a uniform to some, with the change of accessories you can create a totally different vibe. On my last Sunday/Funday I paired this with my favorite hat and purse to create a boho vibe.

Do you have any go to looks or pieces in your closet?

Fashion Goals...

Sweater-Old Navy, Pants-eBay, Shoes-DSW, Sunnies-Old

Like most people I have a set a life goals that I am working my way through, but unlike most people I have fashion goals that I want to accomplish as well.  Goals like owning a Channel bag, eating lunch with Caroline Issa and finding the perfect pair of sequins pants.

Honestly, I can’t even tell you when my fascination with sequins pants started, but it’s bad. I spend hours pinning them on Pinterest, I pray that a plus-size designer will make them for me to wear endlessly. A few years ago I bought a pair of sequins leggings from Torrid that I keep in a Ziploc bag because I don’t want anything to happen them.  I love them, but I long for another pair. The perfect peg leg perfection that I still can’t find.

During Christmas break I was scrolling around eBay and I found this amazing pair of sequins pants that brought on endless hours of hesitation. They weren’t peg legged, they were wide leg and they were more Bea Arthur than Beyoncé. I bought them anyway because I didn’t want to miss out. When they came I was nervous and excited all at the same time. What if I hated them? What if they looked crazy? Either way the no return policy dictated that I had to keep them. Luckily I liked them a lot! I loved the boho vibe of the pant and I paired them with my favorite turtleneck sweater of the moment. Sometimes it’s good to take a fashion risk to feed your obsession.

So how do you feel about sequins pants? Do you love them or hate them? Or are you indifferent?
