Another year older, another off the shoulder...

Today is my 37th Birthday! I am beyond grateful to God for allowing me to see another year! This year has honestly been amazing and I seriously can't wait to see what happens next!  But if I can be honest with y'all I haven't been in the mood to celebrate this birthday. I'm not sure exactly why I feel this way, I just feel very subdued about the entire day. And that's not my normal mood. I am the official Birthday monster, but not this year for some reason. Maybe it's cause I feel like I'm in a transition year, and transition years can be hard and confusing.  When I was in the years between 25 to 30 I felt the same exact way. Growth and change are never easy. So what do I need to do when I have to change my mood and get ready to celebrate? I find a happy outfit to wear!

A good outfit really does change my entire mood. Bright colors, stripes and an off the shoulder shirt instantly lifted my spirits. This entire look is quintessential Jeniese, and those are the looks that make me the happiest. I would tell you that I'm not buying anymore off the shoulder looks... but I would honestly be lying. This one called my name so I snatched it right up!

Sidenote: We took this picture in front of the Blank Space Mural Project. It's a super cool project here in Birmingham that is looking to create public art on some of our blank walls! I love the colorful art popping up around town and I think it adds so much beauty to our city. I truly hope they continue to create new murals around town!
