A few weeks ago I felt the overwhelming need to take a vacation, but then again I always want to take a vacation. So when the Hotel Indigo reached out to me, I jumped on the opportunity to visit their latest location in Tuscaloosa. Tuscaloosa is where I lived during my college years and it the city is my happy place.

Admittedly I am a huge fan of the Hotel Indigo brand. The uniqueness of each and every location and their commitment to making sure each hotel fits into the local scene and the vibe. Recently opened, The Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa sits off the bank of the Black Warrior River, in close proximity to Downtown Tuscaloosa, the Amphitheater, The Tuscaloosa River Market. The hotel is also close to both The University of Alabama and Stillman College's campus.

When I arrived the hotel staff (who is amazing) clapped and called out my name, as I sat waiting for my Bestie to arrive, I noticed they knew name of everyone who is staying there, along with some special thing about that guest. Talk about charm! I loved that. Sometimes it's nice to stay at a place where people care, cause that doesn't happen a lot. Besides the comfort of the rooms, a few of the amenities that I love were the on-site bikes that you could reserve to take around the city, the built in iPod music devices in the fitness room and conference/event spaces that allow you to play DJ, the art gallery that displays local artist work.

On top of that, Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa has a fabulous rooftop bar called the Lookout that you can go and enjoy at any time! I had a great time enjoying a drink and looking over the river. We also had the opportunity to eat at Shoal's Kitchen, the in house restaurant, let me just say it did not disappoint at all. Please get the peach cobbler if you go, it is legit.  Going to college in Tuscaloosa, I am amazed by the growth that the city has experienced in the last 10 years. This hotel is a reflection of that growth. I had a ball!

I can't recommend the Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa enough! If you are traveling or looking for a quick get away stop by the one in T-Town!

Do you do get quick trips and getaways? Where is your favorite spot to get away too?

Thank you for reading!

  9. We hung out at this place in evening last week before heading out to our next destination. While we were at San Francisco venues we found the service to be quick and attentive. Probably because it was early on a Friday and it was still kind of empty.
