I have preached versatility for as long as I remember on this blog. Currently that seems super important during this moment in fashion. Everyone is looking for ways to build great closets filled with items that can be worn for different purposes, in different ways. Let me introduce you to my new closet hero, the Lena Dress from Lane Bryant!
I own several variations of the Lena, from a jumpsuit to a romper to this dress. The fit is perfect with a tailored bodice and a flare bottom. Honestly I was shocked at how well this dress fit in my bust area. Even though I have the jumpsuit, I still wasn't expecting such an exact fit. Now I know why they can't keep them in stock.
The Lena is the perfect transitional dress that will carry you though absolutely every occasion. Although I'm working from home as I venture back out, slowly but surely this dress will be my go too as I'm getting dressed.
I hope everyone is doing well. Do you have anything from the Lena collection?

Hi Everyone!!! This post is the first in a series of three post this week
sponsored by Catherines! We are exploring a few of our favorite fall items that
are perfect for work at Catherines!
Some days I absolutely don’t feel like getting dressed and I
want to stay in my pajamas for as long as possible. On those days I rummage through
my closet until I find the most comfortable item that I can find for work. And
let’s be honest finding extra comfortable work appropriate looks aren’t the easiest
thing to do. This dress from Catherines absolutely fits the bill. It’s
comfortable, cozy and I felt like I had slipped on my favorite pair of pj's. Adding
my favorite headwrap, a pair of booties and a gold earring, completed my comfortable
look.
The bright fall color encouraged me to figure out a few ways
to style this dress, so I could wear it frequently. I can imagine endless ways
to style it. A heavy cardigan or a belt
would be fabulous styling options.
What do you wear when you don’t feel like getting dressed?
Do you have a go to look or style?

Thank you to Catherines for sponsoring this post.
This fall I’m taking a new approach to fashion. Buying less, re-wearing more, and trying new silhouettes. I realize that even though I’m not afraid to try new shapes, I haven’t done so in a while. The only exception to this rule is that over the past few years I’ve fallen more and more into trying new denim shapes. As much as I love my skinny jeans, I also love straight leg, and Mom jeans. So when I had a chance to partner with Catherines to discuss fall style, I instantly decided to explore their denim shapes.
My eye gravitated to the black jean and oversized denim jacket. One of my main reasons to love black jeans is because I can wear them like pants with a great top and still have the undeniable comfort of jeans. It also makes it completely easier for me to wear jeans to work, which is nice. I’ve also been on the hunt for an oversized jean jacket that didn’t have any embellishments or distressing, this barnjacket was exactly what I had been searching for fall.
Catherines has so many great pieces for fall! I’ve already got my eye on a few of their dresses, as I patiently wait for sweater season. What are you shopping for this season? Send me a message, let’s discuss!

LOOK: Dress | Shoes - Similar here and here | Earrings | Sunnies
And just like that I'm 40. This week I've spent a lot of time fretting over that fact. My emotions have run the gamut of sadness, terror, anger and excitement. Technically turning 40 means nothing, except I've had one more dance around the sun. I'm extremely grateful for that, but I would be lying to everyone if I didn't admit that I have had some sadness surrounding this birthday.
Perhaps it's misconceived notion that I would have it all figured out by 40, that I would be married, that I would have kids and that I would own a home. I don't have any of these things, and that's okay. The truth is I'm 40, I'm single, I don't have kids and I currently live with my Parents until I figure out where I want to live (Thanks Mom and Dad!). The truth is I don't have one single thing figured out and I'm stuck in what my therapist and I are calling the in-between. We have also decided that there is so much beauty in the in-between. There is beauty in owning your struggle and figuring out where. you want to go from there. There is also beauty in celebrating what who you did become when you let go of the ridiculous notion of who you thought you were.
So that's what I will do! I will celebrate my life as it is, continue to work on what I want it to be and keep recreating my dreams in the in-between. I will celebrate being an excellent Aunt instead of a Mom. I will keep dating in hopes that love will blossom. I will enjoy my days with my Parents because they are honestly the gift that keeps on giving. I will celebrate this online community that was never apart of the plan, but instead became a dream come true. I will give myself permission to feel absolutely everything that I want to feel, without drowning in the sadness of perceived failure. My friend Carlatte reminded me that I am racing myself and that there are no rules. I honestly needed to hear that gentle reminder.
I will be 40 and it will be fabulous. So whoever you are, wherever you are, how ever old you are remember you are wonderful and amazing so is your life just the way it is. Don't forget how amazing you are while you mourn the loss of the idea of who you were going to be.

Jumpsuit | Blazer | Shoes | Earrings | Purse-Vintage | Sunnies- Similar (here and here) |
This year my New Year's Eve is gonna be totally low-key. I honestly might even wear tennis shoes, since I'm still nursing this sprained foot. But if I wasn't this jumpsuit from Lane Bryant would be perfect for a night out on the town. First of all it's comfortable, the fit is amazing and it has pockets. All important requirements for a going out outfit. I looked at this jumpsuit online and kept going back and forth, but when fell in love when I tried it on in the store! Thank you to all of my IG followers who told me to buy it! LOL! I love y'all! The velvet detailing take this jumpsuit up a notch and made it different from my other jumpsuits. FYI I'm wearing a size 22, just in case you're buying it online. I styled the jumpsuit by adding my velvet mules, blazer and these beautiful earrings I picked up at Loft.
Honestly I can not believe that we are at the end of another year. Everything has rushed by so fast. I sincerely want to say thank you to everyone who has continued to read my blog year after year! This year has been so amazing for me blog wise that I am totally inspired to push myself harder and harder to develop this little corner of the Internet. I am thankful for everyone who has left me a comment, liked my pictures, commented and interacted with my in any way! I hope you have an amazing 2018! If there is anything you want to see here please don't hesitate to email me and let me know! I love interacting with y'all!
Thank you for reading! Love you all!

Dress: C/O Rachel Roy | Belt-Old (Love this one) | Shoes- Similar| Sunnies-Similar |
There was a time when all I wanted to wear was ruffles, and not this wasn't when I was 7. If it had a ruffle I would buy it, but somewhere along the way I got more discerning about my ruffles. I decided that I had grown out of them and didn't understand how to incorporate them into the new look that I was seeking out so I banished them from my closet. This was clearly just a phase I was going through.
Looking back I don't know what I was thinking about, ruffles are still very much my jam. I love the delicate nature of a ruffle accent on a dress, skirt or even a pant. When I received this dress from Rachel Roy Curve Collection I loved the feminine touch that the ruffles brought to the look. I mixed the studded belt to toughen the look up just bit. It felt like a perfect combination of my style.
Fitnotes: If you've been wanting to try Rachel Roy Curvy Collection I will tell you it doesn't disappoint! I loved the fit of this dress, it was true to size. The quality of the fabric was also really nice.
Sometimes it's enlightening to revisit a style you gave up on so you can make it work for your wardrobe. Below I've included a few of my favorite Rachel Roy Curvy Collection pieces. There are a few dresses I'm obsessed with! Have you tried her collection yet? What do you think?
